Key Challenges
The Doxa team needed a brand identity that could communicate both spiritual depth and playful creativity. The goal was to build trust with faith-driven audiences while avoiding clichés, ensuring the identity felt grounded, joyful, and modern enough to thrive in a competitive tabletop market.
Approach
The process began with defining a logo that could serve as the cornerstone of the brand identity. The final wordmark combines strength, clarity, and timeless character to reflect the mission of glorifying God through play. At its center, the bold “X” anchors the mark both visually and symbolically, referencing the Greek chi — a historic emblem of Christ and glory. The surrounding letterforms were carefully drawn and subtly overlapped to pull the eye toward the “X” while unifying the wordmark into a cohesive whole. The balance of classic serif typography with modern compositioncreates a confident, memorable logo that communicates both trust and creativity across every touchpoint.
For secondary applications, a badge version of the logo incorporates a laurel wreath — a classical Greek symbol of victory — paired with the Soli Deo Gloria tagline. This version extends the identity into contexts like packaging, promotional graphics, or community-facing brand moments where a more emblematic mark is effective.
Beyond the mark itself, the brand guide established a complete visual system: typography pairings, color palettes, and supporting graphical elements, all designed to scale seamlessly from packaging to digital platforms.
In parallel, the guide defined brand personality and voice. Doxa’s personality is joyful, rooted, creative, and trustworthy, while its voice remains approachable, clear, inspirational, and respectful of Scripture. These qualities ensure the brand communicates with warmth and integrity, always inviting players into fellowship and fun.
Outcome
The final identity system gave Doxa Games a professional, versatile foundation for growth. The logo communicates strength and meaning at a glance, while the extended brand system ensures consistency across board game packaging, marketing materials, and future expansions. With the Soli Deo Gloria tagline anchoring the identity, Doxa Games is positioned to connect deeply with its audience, combining craft, creativity, and conviction in equal measure.
